ALL PRICES ARE IN CANADIAN DOLLARS. All shipments to the United States are subject to local taxes, duties, and customs fees, and the customer is responsible for all charges.
Payment Types Accepted
We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express via Paypal. It's quick and easy to set up a Paypal account, and it allows to check out with confidence without exposing your financial details.
We also accept money orders payable to Great Things in Store, and we'll ship your purchase once your money order has been received.
Shipping Policies
We ship via Canada Post or Fedex. You will be given various options at time of checkout. Shipping costs are based on weight of the package and length of delivery time. Actual shipping charges are used, and no handling charges will be applied.

We know you are anxious to receive your purchase, and will ship within 1-3 business days. How quickly you receive your package depends on the shipping option you choose:
Regular Parcel Delivery: 7 – 10 business days
(please allow for more time over the holidays)
Expedited Parcel Delivery: 2 – 7 days between major Canadian cities
Express Delivery: Xpresspost guarantees delivery within 1-2 business days
*Extra shipping charges may apply to northern or remote regions. This includes orders over $150 where free shipping normally applies. A member of our staff will contact you before shipping.
Orders cannot be delivered to a PO Box. A physical address must be provided.
Gift Purchases
We will gladly ship to a third party address if the item you have purchased is a gift. We’ll even wrap and enclose a personal note if you’d like, at no extra charge! Just let us know in the comments section when you check out.
Tracking Your Item
Once your item has shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number. You can track the progress of your package at www.canadapost.com or at www.fedex.com.
Local Pickup
You may also choose to pick up your items at our store in Cochrane, Alberta. Just choose the “local pickup” option when choosing shipping type at checkout. You will receive a phone call within 3 business days to let you know when your order is ready.
You may pick up your order anytime during our regular business hours. You will have to present your online sales receipt and photo ID for us to release the item.
Taxes
Canadian residents will be charged 5% GST, but no PST or HST. Please contact your provincial government regarding how to remit taxes due.
Easy Returns & Exchange Policy
Don’t worry - if you are not completely delighted with your purchase, you may return it within 14 days for a refund, or 30 days for an exchange. All sale items are a final sale. Please note that you will be responsible for shipping charges on returns, unless an item is defective.
Items damaged during shipping will be dealt with through the shipper. Great Things in Store will not be held responsible for the actions and methods of any shipping service.

When sending an item back, fill out the return slip that was sent with your item. Pack the item up in its original packaging. Please make sure that you pack the item, as we will not issue a refund for any item not returned in the original condition. The original packaging must be intact.
Take the package to any Canada Post location or courier of your choice, and send it back to:

You will be responsible for all shipping charges. We will not accept COD packages. The only exception is if you are returning a defective item, which must be returned by regular parcel service with Canada Post.
You can expect a refund on your credit card or a cheque mailed within 7 business days of receipt of your return.
Out of Stock Items
As we also run a regular retail store, there are times when someone may buy an item in our store before we can remove it from the website. If this should happen, we will contact you by phone, and you will have the option to wait for restock, order a substitution, or receive a refund.
About our Packaging
We strive to reuse packaging whenever possible. It may not look as pretty as a brand-new box, but the environmental impact is drastically reduced, as is the cost passed along to you, the customer. It’s the green thing to do! If you prefer new packaging, please let us know and we’ll provide it at a small charge.
