Opening our doors in 2004, Great Things in Store was an instant success, providing high-end recycled clothing and hot new baby and kids products to families in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada.  Two years later, we doubled the size of our store and expanded into women’s clothing and accessories, focusing on hip, young brand names like Diesel, Gap, Mexx, and Parasuco.

As of fall 2008, we now offer many of the innovative new products that we carry in-store thoughout Canada and the United States via our online store.

The In-Store Experience

Our complete line of merchandise is found in our Cochrane Store.  Located 15 minutes northwest of Calgary, our 2300 ft2 store is filled to the brim with great finds.  You’ll discover brand-name consigned clothing and baby equipment, as well as an ever-changing selection of some of the hottest new products on the market for babies, kids, teens, and women.  With over 1000 new items arriving every week, it’s never the same store twice!

We have a special interest in attachment parenting and eco-friendly products, and carry a great selection of baby carriers, nursing products, BPA-free items, and cloth diapering supplies.  Our staff will go the extra mile to help you find exactly what you need.

Shopping at Great Things in Store is always a family-friendly experience.  Some of our amenities include a kid’s play area, nursing chair, free lending library, a universal car-seat stroller to borrow while shipping with baby, and a washroom / baby change room with free diapers.  We understand that shopping with kids in tow can be a challenge and will do our best to make the experience enjoyable for everyone!

The Online Experience

Our online store offers most of the great new items that you’ll find in our store.  The on-line store delivers the same level of customer service through easy navigation and secure online shopping.  We’re available by phone or email to answer any questions you have, and aim to ship every order within two business days.

Some new items are available in-store only so if you live close by, please come in and check us out!  At this time, gently-used items are available in-store only.

The Owners

Born and raised in Cochrane, my name is Bonnie Bend and I started Great Things in Store as a way to earn a living and still have the flexibility to be with my young son, Alex.  We’ve been successful from day one, providing a valuable service to families by offering high-quality, low-cost items that help to keep the cost of raising a family down. Our consignment service has proven to be a great feature for families in the Cochrane and Calgary area, allowing them to earn money by consigning quality items they no longer use. An added benefit is that by reusing and recycling these items, the environmental cost of producing new items is reduced.

My husband Edgar and I now have a baby girl Camryn, and we’re very excited to launch our online store.  We’ve been asked for years to expand into other cities and towns, and have often sent hard-to-find items to customers who can’t find them locally.  We look forward to serving customers across the continent through our website.
